As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses arial 11-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
  • Where available, doi numbers for articles have been provided.

Consistent with current APA Guidelines, Australian Journal of Technology Education requires authors to include the doi of manuscripts they reference where this information is available. One quick resource for doing this is provided HERE

The normal word limit for articles is about 5000 words. Visual illustrations are encouraged in keeping with the ethos and practice of technology education.

Articles for consideration by the Editorial Board should be submitted online through the Open Journal Systems management system. This system manages all submissions and reviews and authors can log in to track their submissions. The submitted articles will be ‘blind’ refereed by three members of the Editorial Board, who will remain anonymous, and authors will receive feedback through the management system.

All manuscripts must be single-spaced and adhere to the guidelines published in the Publication Guidelines of the latest version of the American Psychological Association. All figures and artwork must be scaled to fit and be submitted in electronic format. The text should use Arial 11 point font (or equivalent) and employ italics rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
